Morrison set for Hammers
Red Devils youngster likely to join Championship leaders

Sky Sports sources understand Manchester United teenager Ravel Morrison is
closing in on a move to Championship leaders West Ham United. Morrison is
out of contract at Old Trafford at the end of the season and it appears the
Premier League champions have accepted an offer from the Hammers. The Red
Devils rejected a bid from Newcastle United earlier in the transfer window
after Sir Alex Ferguson stated that Morrison had rejected a new deal. The
18-year-old subsequently took to Twitter to insist he had not turned down an
extension, but the midfielder now looks to be on his way out of United. He
is regarded as the most gifted youngster to have come through the United
ranks for many years, but has also encountered problems off the pitch. The
likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, Barcelona, Roma and Paris St Germain have
all been linked with moves for Morrison, but West Ham appears his
destination. Hammers boss Sam Allardyce is preparing for a busy deadline day
after lining up deals for Barnsley striker Ricardo Vaz Te and Genoa forward
Ze Eduardo.

Sky Sports understands that Barnsley striker Ricardo Vaz Te is set to
undergo a medical at West Ham United. Sam Allardyce knows the Portuguese
striker very well having brought him to England during his tenure at Bolton.
Now, after scoring ten goals for Barnsley this season, West Ham have struck
a deal for the 25-year-old.
Vaz Te's current deal at Oakwell is due to expire in the summer and the
Tykes have now decided to cash in rather than letting him go on a free
transfer. The two clubs have now agreed an undisclosed fee for the forward
who should complete his move on Tuesday. West Ham have been looking to
bolster their forward options and Allardyce looks set to bag Vaz Te and
Genoa striker Ze Eduardo.

Allardyce refuses to waste West Ham's money

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce insists his club will not be held to ransom as
they look to bring a big-name striker to Upton Park. Allardyce has so far
missed out on Huddersfield's Jordan Rhodes and Rangers' Nikica Jelavic, as
well as Barnsley winger Ricardo Vaz Te. Allardyce, whose promotion-chasing
side face Ipswich in the Championship on Tuesday night, said: "Just because
it is West Ham bidding, the price seems to go up. Clubs seem to want to
squeeze as much money out of us as possible. "There's many reasons why a
deal breaks down but I think we have a sensible value of a player's worth.
"The finances at this club are delicate. If it is far too expensive, you
have to be brave enough to say no."

Ravel Morrison to leave Manchester United for West Ham
Exclusive: West Ham are expected to finalise a deal to sign Manchester
United's prodigiously gifted midfielder Ravel Morrison today.
Telegraph.co.uk

West Ham have agreed a fee with United and are confident of closing the deal
this morning. The move represents something of a coup for West Ham.
Newcastle had an offer rejected by Manchester United earlier this month
while Bolton had a bid accepted, only for the player to turn down the move.
While Roma were also seriously interested in the player, the opportunity to
play first team football persuaded Morrison to move to Upton Park and the
Championship rather than stay in the Premier League or move abroad.
Morrison's contract at United expired in the summer and they have decided to
sell him now rather than risk going to tribunal at the end of the season.
United did offer Morrison a new deal which the player was still considering
when West Ham's bid was accepted. Reports that the player was demanding
£30,000 per week are wide of the mark and he is understood to have been
offered less than half of that by West Ham. While Sir Alex Ferguson has
spoken frequently, and admiringly, about the scope of Morrison's talent, he
has also suffered from disciplinary problems at United.

Morrison wanted first team football but United felt his talent was better
being developed with a more gradual elevation and he has made just two first
team appearances this season. A frustrated Morrison missed training on
several occasions and, with his contract running out, United gave his
representatives permission to seek out buyers. Coaches at Carrington rave
about Morrison's technical ability and spatial awareness and, when he gets
up to match fitness, Sam Allardyce will seek to integrate him into his
promotion-chasing team rapidly. It is understood that West Ham's history of
bringing through gifted young players played a role in Morrison's decision.
Morrison scored two goals in the FA Youth Cup final last season as
Manchester United won the trophy and has played for England at U16, U17 and
U18 level.

Ricardo Vaz close to West Ham move
31 Jan 2012
Evening Standard

Barnsley forward Ricardo Vaz Te is poised for a move to Championship rivals
West Ham. Vaz Te, who was signed on a free transfer from Hibernian in the
summer, has been a revelation at Oakwell this season, scoring 12 goals in 24
appearances from a wide position. The Lisbon-born forward penned a one-year
deal with the Tykes and was reported to have rejected a new deal earlier
this month. His form and contractual situation has attracted the attention
of Hammers boss Sam Allardyce, who brought the 25-year-old to England in
2003 while at Bolton, and Barnsley confirmed this morning that they have
given the two parties permission to discuss a deal after an undisclosed fee
was agreed. Allardyce hinted at a deal for a forward yesterday, saying:
"Hopefully we'll secure one player to add to the squad. If I can bring
someone in on the front line then great."

West Ham on course to capture United star Morrison

Talented Manchester United teenager Ravel Morrison is on the brink of
joining Championship side West Ham, according to widespread reports.
Morrison, rated as one of the most naturally talented young players to come
through United's ranks since Paul Scholes, is reportedly demanding a
£30,000-a-week contract at United - a figure the Premier League club are not
willing to meet. With the attacking midfielder's current deal expiring at
the end of the season, United have decided to sell now rather than risk a
transfer fee being set by a tribunal in the summer. The Guardian and the
Telegraph both report that Morrison, 18, is being shipped out to the
Hammers, with the latter newspaper claiming a fee has already been agreed.
The move represents something of a coup for West Ham as Premier League
Newcastle had an offer rejected by United earlier this month while Bolton
had a bid accepted, only for the player to turn down the move. While Roma
were also seriously interested in the player, the opportunity to play first
team football persuaded Morrison to move to Upton Park. Morrison is rated by
Trevor Brooking, the FA's director of football development, alongside Paul
Gascoigne and Jack Wilshere at the same age. However, despite Morrison's
quality on the pitch, his short career has already been tainted by a series
of disciplinary problems off it. Among them was a caution for assaulting his
mother and he has been urged to seek counselling.

Transfer deadline day: morning update

West Ham United are being linked with several players as tonight's 11pm
transfer deadline approaches.

The main links of note are as follows:

* Genoa striker Ze Eduardo, who arrived in London yesterday before
successfully completing a medical is on standby to be confirmed as a loan
signing for the remainder of the season. The Hammers are understood to have
agreed a deal with the Italian club to take the Brazilian with view to a
permanent deal at the end of the season.

* 18-year-old Ravel Morrison, who KUMB.com revealed late last night was the
subject of a bid from West Ham is on his way to London in order to undergo a
medical ahead of a proposed move from Manchester United. The highly-rated
youngster is out of contract at the end of this season and according to the
Daily Mail's Lee Clayton will cost West Ham £650,000, rising to £1million
should the two parties agree terms.

* According to Sky Sports News, Bristol City's Nicky Maynard - who was the
subject of a £2million bid from Wigan Athletic last week - is also on his
way to London for talks over a proposed permanent transfer to West Ham. The
25-year-old striker is another who is out of contract at the end of this
season. KUMB.com has learned that a fee of £2.5million has been agreed
between West Ham and City this morning.

* Ricardo Vaz Te, who Barnsley boss Keith Hill revealed yesterday was the
subject of a 'derisory' bid from United is another who is said to be in
talks with the Hammers over a permanent switch. The former Bolton forward
has hit 12 goals for the Tykes in 24 appearances this term, who are reported
to have accepted a bid of £750,000 from the Hammers.

* With regards to outward movement, speculation has linked both Freddie
Sears and Frank Nouble with a move to Crawley - although both of these
rumours are unsubstantiated at present. Lee Clayton has also suggested
Sunderland could be in for the out-of-favour Freddie Piquionne.

Striker rejects Red Devils deal

Sky Sports understands West Ham striker Frank Nouble has turned down a move
to Crawley Town. As revealed by skysports.com earlier this week Crawley were
hoping to sign Nouble after agreeing a fee with West Ham for the
20-year-old. The England Under 19 international, who scored on his only
start for West Ham in the Championship this term against Derby, is well down
the pecking order at Upton Park. However, Nouble, who is out of contract at
the end of the season, has snubbed the offer at Crawley and is ready to
fight for his place at West Ham. "I am flattered by the interest from
Crawley, but I have turned down the chance to move there," Nouble told Sky
Sports. "I have scored in the Championship and I did well out on loan at
Gillingham and I want to fight for my place at West Ham. "I believe I can do
a job in the Championship for West Ham if I am given the chance."

Maynard in Hammers talks
Striker wanted at Upton Park

Sky Sports understands that West Ham United have opened talks with Bristol
City over Nicky Maynard. The 25-year-old has been the subject of interest
from a host of clubs this month after City confirmed they wanted to sell
him. Maynard is out of contract in the summer and can therefore leave Ashton
Gate for nothing at the end of the season. With that in mind, the Robins are
keen to cash in on him, but it remains to be seen if he will agree to any
deal. Wigan saw a deal fall through, whilst Wolves and West Ham were also
strongly linked and now the Hammers are trying to seal a deadline day move.
West Ham have already agreed deals for Ricardo Vaz Te and Ze Eduardo, but
whether they would push through more than two striker deals remains to be
seen.

Morrison in West Ham talks after Manchester United agree £1m fee for
teenager

West Ham have agreed a deal with Manchester United for young forward Ravel
Morrison. The fee could rise to £1million and Morrison's agent is in the
process of negotiating personal terms for the 18-year-old. Morrison stunned
United by demanding £30,000 a week, despite the player making just three
first-team appearances.
Sir Alex Ferguson has expressed his exasperation with the talented but
troubled teenager, describing his demands as 'unrealistic'. Meanwhile,
Barnsley forward Ricardo Vaz Te is poised for a move to Upton Park. Vaz Te,
who was signed on a free transfer from Hibernian in the summer, has been a
revelation at Oakwell this season, scoring 12 goals in 24 appearances from a
wide position. The Lisbon-born forward penned a one-year deal with the Tykes
and was reported to have rejected a new deal earlier this month. His form
and contractual situation has attracted the attention of Hammers boss Sam
Allardyce, who brought the 25-year-old to England in 2003 while at Bolton,
and Barnsley confirmed this morning that they have given the two parties
permission to discuss a deal after an undisclosed fee was agreed.
Allardyce hinted at a deal for a forward yesterday, saying: 'Hopefully we'll

Manager John Still talks transfer news
London 24

Dagenham & Redbridge are poised to extend Ahmed Abdulla's loan spell from
West Ham, while team-mate Eoin Wearen has returned to Upton Park – but
manager John Still expects no further transfer activity today.

Abdulla has started six matches since moving to Victoria Road, but Wearen
has found opportunities more difficult to come by with three appearances
from the bench, since making his senior debut against Millwall in the FA
Cup.

With fellow central midfielders Peter Gain, Kevin Maher and Luke Howell all
on their way back from injury though, Still will wait and assess the full
extent of the trio's respective situations before making his final decision.

"I don't think there will be anything today, but possibly when the loan
window opens next week," he said.

"Eoin has gone back, but Ahmed, we may pursue that.

"We have had talks with West Ham, so it's a possibility. He's happy to do
it, it's just a case of seeing how long the ones that are out are going to
be out for.

"Luke Howell started training this week, but whether it's two weeks or three
or four weeks before he's available, we'll have to see.

"Rob Edmans will play in the reserves today, but he needs three of four
games, so there is the possibility of a loan move for him. It's a difficult
one for us because of the amount of players we have injured.

"We can't throw them all in at once and how else can I give him the games
that he needs?"
