As the Insider told you on Sunday, the Club were hopeful of bringing
in between two and four new signings before the transfer window closed
and this now looks to be a great end to the transfer window for West
Ham United.

The Club have already secured the loan deals of Alex Song from
Barcelona and Victor Moses from Chelsea.

The official website has just announced the signing of Croatia striker
Nikica Jelavic from Hull who will add even more competition to the
forward line.

The Club's board were determined to strengthen the squad and my
sources have told me that the spending has not finished there.

The Club are also hoping to land the £7m signing of a talented winger
later this afternoon.

Stay tuned to whufc.com where you will get all the news first. Keep
refreshing the official website until the close of the transfer
window.

Hammers seal Jelavic deal
whufc.com

West Ham United are delighted to confirm the transfer of Croatia
striker Nikica Jelavic from Hull City on a two-year contract, with the
option of a further two, for an undisclosed fee.

The 30-year-old frontman completed his move after successfully passing
a medical at Spire Roding Hospital – the Club's Official Private
Hospital – and will link up with his former national team boss Slaven
Bilic at the Boleyn Ground.

Jelavic has scored goals in the Barclays Premier League for Everton
and Hull City over the last three years and adds to a striking unit
which also features Diafra Sakho, Andy Carroll, Enner Valencia and
Mauro Zarate.

He told whufc.com exclusively: "I am very excited to be signing for
West Ham United, especially as it is a big Club and I didn't know
until a couple of days ago that I would have the opportunity to come
here.

"Of course it is always a target to play in the Premier League, so
when I found out that West Ham wanted me there was no doubt that I
wanted to come here.

"I've played for Slaven before for the Croatia national team and he is
a great manager and a great man. I am really happy and delighted to be
working with him and all his staff again.

"I'll be joining a team that's on a high after the result on Saturday."

Born in Capljina on the Bosnia-Croatia border, Jelavic's professional
career began under the management of Bilic at Hajduk Split, but he
moved across Europe to sign for Belgian side Zulte Waregem at the age
of 21.

One season in Belgium preceded a two-year spell in Austria with Rapid
Wien, where he found his goal touch to net 27 times in 71 league
outings.

The United Kingdom and Glasgow Rangers was the 6'2 frontman's next
stop, and he was yet more prolific during his time at Ibrox, scoring
19 goals in his first season and 17 in the first half of 2011/12,
earning a January 2012 move to Everton.

Nine goals in 13 Premier League games that season was a fine way to
start at Goodison Park and he added a further eight in his second
season with the Toffees.

January 3014 brought his move to Hull, but eight goals last term
couldn't prevent Steve Bruce's side from suffering relegation to the
Championship.

Internationally, Jelavic won 36 caps for his country and travelled to
UEFA Euro 2012 and the 2014 FIFA World Cup, but he called time on his
Croatia career late last year.

Nikica Jelavic - Ten Fast Facts
whufc.com

• Jelavic represented Croatia in international football, but was
actually born in what is now Bosnia-Herzegovina. The town of Capljina
is on the border with Croatia.

• He took his first steps in youth football in Bosnia with GOSK
Gabela, but started his pro journey with Hajduk Split, where Slaven
Bilic was his boss in the early days.

• Jelavic picked up a number of medals during his time in Split,
twice winning the national title and lifting the Croatian Cup in 2003.

• Injuries restricted his appearances with Hajduk, however, and he
looked outside Croatia for his next move with a year in Belgium
kickstarting a career in Europe.

• It was a two-year spell at Rapid Wien that brought his name to
the fore, with a 29-goal campaign in 2009/10 alerting Rangers to his
talents.

• The 6'2 striker continued his prolific form in Glasgow, and was a
Scottish Premier League winner in 2010/11 – the same year that the
Gers also won the Scottish League Cup.

• After moving to Everton in January 2012, a lightning start to his
career on Merseyside saw him score nine goals in 13 Barclays Premier
League games and pick up the League's Player of the Month award for
April 2012.

• Despite only being with the Toffees for the final four months of
his debut campaign in England, he finished the season as Everton's top
goalscorer.

• Hull City became his second English club when he moved along the
M62 in January 2014, but he was cup tied for the Tigers' run to the FA
Cup final that year.

• He has appeared at two international tournaments, UEFA Euro 2012
and the 2014 FIFA World Cup, scoring in the former in a 3-1 win over
Republic of Ireland.

Moses signs on loan
whufc.com

West Ham United are delighted to announce that Chelsea winger Victor
Moses has signed for the Club on a season-long loan.

Moses, 24, makes the move across London to link up with the Hammers on
Tuesday's transfer deadline.

The 5'10 creator has spent the last two seasons on loan at Liverpool
and Stoke City and is delighted to have made the switch to the Boleyn
Ground.

Born in Kaduna, Nigeria, Moses grew up in south London and began his
football career with Crystal Palace, making his debut aged just 16 in
November 2007.

He immediately became a regular in the Palace side and played 69 games
for the Eagles in all competitions before completing a £2.5m move to
then-Premier League team Wigan Athletic in January 2010..

His rapid progress continued at the DW Stadium, where he spent two
full seasons and made 74 top flight appearances.

Moses' form attracted the interest of Chelsea, who brought him back to
London in August 2012. He made 43 appearances in his first season with
the Blues, scoring ten goals – including four in the Club's successful
UEFA Europa League campaign.

However, he was loaned to Liverpool early the next campaign and played
22 games for the Reds, before another loan and 23 appearances followed
at Stoke City last term.

On the international stage, Moses turned out for England up to U21
level, but chose to pledge his allegiance to Nigeria in 2011, since
going on to feature in his country's victorious 2013 Africa Cup of
Nations campaign and the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Victor Moses - Ten Fast Facts
whufc.com

Victor Moses was born in Kaduna, Nigeria on 12 December 1980. He
arrived in London aged eleven and was soon scouted by Crystal Palace.

He went to school in South Norwood, just streets away from Crystal
Palace's stadium and he soon made rapid progress through the Eagles'
academy, scoring 50 goals in a season for the club's Under-14 side.

Moses made his senior debut aged 16, as the Eagles secured a 1-1
Championship draw with Cardiff City on 6 November 2007.

His first senior goal arrived four months later in another 1-1 draw –
this time against Sunderland.
Moses' first Premier League club was Wigan Athletic, with his first
goal in the top flight coming on 3 May 2010. Hull City were the
opposition.

Victor's best goalscoring campaign came in 2012/13 – his first with
Chelsea. He notched eleven goals in all competitions, including six in
Europe. Four of those came in the UEFA Europa League, a competition
Chelsea won that season.

He made 29 appearances for England at age groups running from U16s to
U21s, but decided in 2012 to play his senior international football
for Nigeria, playing a key role in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations
triumph.

Back in England, he moved on loan to Liverpool for the 2013/14 season
and scored two goals for the Reds – one on his debut against Swansea
City and the other in an FA Cup fourth round victory over AFC
Bournemouth.

He was loaned out against last term, this time to Stoke City, where he
scored four goals in 23 games.

Upon his return to Chelsea this summer, he played his first
competitive game for the Club in two years when he came off the bench
in the Community Shield defeat to Arsenal.

Song completes West Ham return
whufc.com

West Ham United are delighted to confirm the capture of Alex Song from
FC Barcelona on a season-long loan.

The 27-year-old Cameroonian midfielder is already familiar with the
Hammers having spent last season on loan at the Boleyn Ground from the
Spanish giants. He follows Pedro Obiang, Dimitri Payet, Darren
Randolph, Carl Jenkinson, Manuel Lanzini, Angelo Ogbonna and Stephen
Hendrie in joining the Hammers this summer as the Club builds for the
final season at the Boleyn Ground.

With 28 Barclays Premier League appearances for the Club already under
his belt, Song is looking forward to the new campaign under Slaven
Bilic.

He said: "I am very happy. For me it was very important to come back
because when I was here I had a great rapport with the fans and the
Club.

"It was a very easy choice for me to come back here and I'm very
happy to be here.

"When I left I didn't know I would come back here. It was not easy but
at the end of the day, the most important thing is I'm here now and
I'm very happy.

"I feel at home, everything feels at home, for my family too, they're
set up very well here. My kids are playing for West Ham academy.

"Everything was in a good place for me to come back here and I'm very
happy to be here. It's a pleasure and it's like I never left here. I'm
still here and I'm happy.

"This is a new year, new players have come in and we have the new
manager. Everything is changing but the way that the Club wants to be,
we have to look at the ambition of the Club and we have to finish
better than we did last year."

Douala-born Song made a big impression while on loan with the Hammers
in 2014/15, featuring in 31 games in all competition and captaining
the team on three occasions.

He started his professional career in France with Bastia, where he
made rapid progress to the first team, debuting as a 16-year-old in
the 2003/04 campaign. Just a year later he moved to Arsenal on loan,
signing permanently with the Gunners in the summer of 2006.

Song made Barclays Premier League and UEFA Champions League
appearances in his first season with the Gunners, despite still being
a teenager, and following a loan at Charlton Athletic, established
himself as a first team regular for Arsene Wenger.

He moved on to Barcelona in 2012, having made 206 appearances for the
Gunners, picking up a League Cup runners-up medal in 2011.

An all-round midfield player capable of breaking up play and prompting
attacks of his own, Song added to his trophy haul at the Nou Camp,
winning La Liga and the Supercopa Espana in 2013, finishing as
runner-up in the league and Copa del Rey the following year, before
returning to England with the Hammers in summer 2014.

Internationally, Song was capped 47 times by Cameroon, finishing
second in the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations and featuring in the last two
FIFA World Cup finals. In January 2015, Song announced his
international retirement, citing his wish to focus on his domestic
career.

Rice relishing breakthrough week
whufc.com

Rice in action for the U18s
Sixteen-year-old Academy of Football star Declan Rice spoke of his
delight at being called up to the Republic of Ireland U17 squad ahead
of their double header with Hungary this week.

The Green Army are in action later today, and the centre-back, who can
also play in midfield, has enjoyed a week to remember as he made his
debut for the U21s at the Emirates on Friday 28 August.

Speaking after the game against the Gunners, a delighted Rice said:
"To make my U21 debut is a special moment in my career. I was a bit
nervous when I came on; thankfully my first few touches came quite
quickly so I could settle into the game. After that I thought I did
well and hopefully impressed Terry and the other coaches.

"Despite the result it was a great experience, especially at the
Emirates. I just tried to enjoy the occasion. I've played here before
at U15 level, I was a small kid then! This pitch is just so big that
keeping the ball is vital, they did that better than us."

Following his debut, Rice could now face European opponents Hungary in
Budapest today, with the second game of the double header on Thursday
3 September.

For Rice, the journey is especially poignant as his Irish-born
grandparents recently passed away.

"My Nan and Granddad sadly passed away a few months ago so it's a very
proud moment for my family. I really want to do well for my
Grandparents because they are my connection to Ireland.
"Representing my country is a massive honour, so I am really happy
with the call up.

"I've played in an International tournament in Dublin earlier in the
year which we won, so I can't wait to meet up with the lads again."

Having made his U21 bow, Rice is now fully focused on progressing as
much as possible. Still only 16, he has broken into the U18 side with
apparent ease.

Rice is just one of a number of youngsters set to represent their
countries at different age groups. Alongside the Irishman, Vashon
Neufville, Sam Howes and Reece Burke will represent England at
different youth groups while Josh Cullen has been drafted into the
Irish U21 side.

In a widely positive time for the Academy of Football the
midfielder-come-defender is clearly enjoying his football.

"We were doing targets for the season earlier this week and I said
hopefully I'd like to come on three times for the U21 this season.
I've made my debut earlier than I expected so I'm delighted with that
and hopefully I can get a few a more now.

"For the U18s I've been playing mainly at the centre-back but tonight
I came on in midfield. I don't mind where I play as long as I start; I
just want to enjoy my football.

"I like to think I read the game very well, I'm a good passer, I'm
pretty vocal out on the pitch and I like to get my point across."

West Ham closing in on deadline day signing #4
kumb.com

Filed: Tuesday, 1st September 2015
By: Staff Writer

West Ham are on the verge of completing the capture of Nottingham
Forest winger Michail Antonio.

The 25-year-old winger, who has scored four goals for the Championship
side already this season was the subject of an improved bid from West
Ham yesterday, thought to be worth in the region of £7million.

Earlier today it appeared as if the move may be off, with Forest said
to be demanding the full transfer fee in advance. However any issues
appear to have been largely resolved according to journalist Jason
Burt.

Antonio is something of a late developer having initially failed to
impress at Reading, to whom he moved from Tooting in 2008. Following
several loan spells with lower league clubs, he was snapped up by
Sheffield Wednesday in 2012.

Following two relatively-successful years at Hillsborough, Forest
moved to snap the promising wide-man up a year ago this month in a
£1.5million deal.

Both West Bromwich Albion and Derby County have also seen bids for
Antonio rejected this summer.

West Ham have already signed three players on deadline day; Alex Song
and Victor Moses on loan from Barcelona and Chelsea respectively, plus
Nikica Jelavic from Hull City on a two-year contract.

Modibo Maiga leaves West Ham for Saudi champions Al Nassr
BBC Sport

West Ham forward Modibo Maiga has joined Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr
for an undisclosed fee.

The 27-year-old Mali international has signed a two-year contract with
the Saudi champions.

Maiga joined West Ham for £4.7m from Sochaux three years ago but has
since had loan spells at QPR and Metz.

He came off the bench to score the Hammers' third goal in their 4-3
home defeat by Bournemouth last week, his seventh in 45 appearances.
