From the Boardroom - David Sullivan

Once we sign a top striker I will feel a lot better and that is the main
position we need. Our top goalscorer last season scored 12 goals and if
someone had scored 20 we would have been in a different position. We all saw
what Leicester did last season and we start the campaign with the aim of
winning the Premier League. Anyone who says it can't be done only has to
look at what Leicester achieved and it can be done. It is unlikely but that
has to be our aim, along with the FA Cup and Capital One Cup. We have three
trophies and we want to win all of them. We are also in Europe and we want
to do well in that as well. It is a fascinating year next season because
people will be wondering whether the old order be re-established or will it
be broken forever? W e will all find out next year. We are all excited about
our big move into the new Stadium. The facilities will be so much better and
I hope the atmosphere will be just as good there. With the next extended
roof it brings in people closer together. Fans who attended the Rugby World
Cup said it was very good so I am hoping everyone will be very pleased. The
transport links for people getting there are so much better than the Boleyn
Ground. Hopefully it will be a lot better for everyone. It is a modern
stadium and it will be a better match-day experience in every way. The TV
screens are huge and they will see the Club is moving forward. I think it is
fantastic that Juventus will be our major first game at the new Stadium. We
will have an opening ceremony and it will be a very exciting Sunday at the
start of August. We will have a capacity crowd. Juventus are a very good
side and have a formidable record in Serie A last season. They have won the
title five-years in a row and it will be a tough game for our players.

Valencia and Swansea – agent speaks out

West Ham have had no approaches and will not be selling Enner Valencia to
Swansea.
A morning report has been entirely rubbished by the Ecuadorian
international's joint agent Barry Silkman to ClaretandHugh within the last
few minutes (Sun).
The story appeared in the Sun this morning but Silkman – talking to us –
said: "It's absolute nonsense. Total rubbish. There's nothing in that at
all. Totally silly season stuff"
However, the agent admitted that Valencia could be on his way this summer
but stressed: "Everybody is expecting this, that and the other to happen but
it might be as well to remember that it's still only June.
"What I can say it that there's nothing from inside England but there is
from Europe and further afield. It's early days at this point but yes there
is definitely interest in the player."

Besiktas President Fikret Ormanhas claimed West Ham have beid three million
euros for Atiba Hutchinson and that it has been rejected.
He said: "Bilic, offered 3 million euros for Atiba. We rejected this
proposal and thanked him, ''
Speaking to the Turkish media, the Besiktas president said the club don't
want to sell Hutchinson or Gokhan Tore.
The president is quoted on the Turkish website Turkiye as saying "Bilic,
suggested 3 million euros for Atiba. We rejected this proposal and thanked
him. Atibaia has one more year contract with us, we want to extend his
contract. I am not willing to sell Gokhan Tore. I want him to play in the
Champions League "
Rumour rater"Yes I want Gokhan Tore and Atiba Hutchinson, they are targets,"
Bilic told Turkish television last week.
"We also have others but they are major targets. Will it happen? Nobody can
say yet but we want him.I want one transfer for both. More than one thing
has to happen for this deal. When a club wants a player it depends on how
much [Besiktas] want to sell a player and how much they are asking."

Liverpool winger is bookies favourite to join Irons
Posted by Sean Whetstone on June 19, 2016 in News, Whispers

Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe has become the surprise bookies favourite to
join West Ham this summer.
The youngstr is 5/2 to join the Hammers with bookmaker Paddy Power. Swansea
are 4/1, Stoke are 5/1, Watford, Southampton, Palace and Celtic are all 8/1
while Spurs are 10/1.
Jordon Ibe has fuelled speculation linking him with a move away from
Liverpool with his activity on social media.
The 20-year-old was left out of the Liverpool squad towards the end of the
season, which led him to subsequently removed all references to the club
from his Twitter profile. His account on the social network has otherwise
been dormant for just under a year.
Ibe also posted an image on Instagram, which carried the message: "God has
your best interest at heart. When a door closes, you don't known what God is
saving you from." Ibe has struggled to hold down a regular spot in Jurgen
Klopp's first team last season. The England Under-21 international has not
started since Liverpool's 2-1 extra-time defeat to West Ham United in an FA
Cup fifth round replay on 9th February.

Valencia linked to PL outfit

Swansea are reportedly set to make a £10million move for West Ham's
striker, Enner Valencia.
The twenty-six year old striker knows has slipped down the Hammers pecking
order and with new strikers on their way to the club is likely to lose his
starting place in the team. Slaven Bilic used him sparingly last season and
with new strikers due to join he knows his chances will be limited.
The Hammers will let the Ecuadorian go for around £12m but a swap deal for
reported Valencia3 target Andre Ayew it very unlikely.
Swansea rejected a £10m bid for Ayew from Sam Allardyce and Sunderland in
the January transfer window so value him at a similar price to Valencia.
The Ghana international, who scored 12 Premier League goals in his first
season at the Welsh club, said that whether he stayed was in the hands of
Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins.
"I think you should ask the chairman. If I have to stay, fine. If I have to
leave, I have to leave. What is important for me is that I keep doing my
work, and in football the truth of today is not the truth of tomorrow,' Ayew
told Sky Sports.
'I've enjoyed the Premier League, I think it's the best league in the world
— the intensity, the determination from every team. Every game is
difficult.' He added: 'I hope to stay in the Premier League if I leave, but
I'm here at the moment at Swansea.'

Olympic Stadium roof modified yet again
Posted by Sean Whetstone on June 19, 2016 in News, Whispers
C and H
New images appear to show the Olympic Stadium undergoing yet another
modification to its £190m new roof. In 2014 costs to rebuild the roof
soared by £36m after the conversion hit complications. At the time, stadium
joint owners LLDC said "We have agreed to increase the value of the Balfour
Beatty contract by £35.9m to £189.9m."
Last year there were renewed concerns over leaks to the world's largest
cantilevered roof after sudden downpours during the Anniversary Athletics
weekend in July left spectators getting soaked in their seats.
The latest work on the massive roof appears to show extra thick ribbing
being installed between the large sheets of polycarbonate to prevent leaks
between the large see-through panels.
There is no indication of what this latest modification will cost the
stadium owners E20 Stadium LLP who have already forked out £277m on the
overall stadium conversion. The additional roof ribbing is likely to cause
a more pronounced shadow pattern on the pitch during the summer but at least
West Ham supporters will remain dry.

DG sends upbeat message

David Gold agrees that the Hammers are very much contenders for serious
glory next season and admits we'll need to spend 'big' to do so..
The upbeat co chairman – a Twitter regular – believes that the Hammers will
definitely be serious contenders for the Champions League next term.
Despite David Sullivan's determination to watch Slav's progress a little
more closely before offering the manager a new deal, DG is confident that we
will be in there pitching for a top four Champions League place.
He expressed the view in resonse to an optomistic follower on his favouured
social network.
He had said: @davidgold 100% we are contenders for Champions League next
season. However saying we need to sign a top striker then you have to spend
big
DG didn;t hesitate to disagree but added a word of caution saying: " Yes,
you have to spend big but more importantly you have to spend wisely. dg"
