Indian takeaway?

Speculation continues within the media over the future ownership of the club
with the BBC suggesting that a decision could be reached as early as today.

Club owner Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson's much publicised financial problems,
which were exacerbated by the collapse of the Icelandic economy, have led to
the club being put up for sale and talks are said to be continuing today
with a view to wrapping up a deal as soon as possible.

Whilst the BBC's Mihir Bose stops short of naming any potential buyers, one
name that has been suggested to KUMB.com is that of Indian businessman G M
Rao. Rao is chairman and founder of the Indian airports and infrastructure
group GMR and was listed as having a personal fortune in 2007 of some
US$6.2bn. He is also the owner of the Delhi Daredevils IPL cricket side and,
as recently as a month ago, was linked with a possible £500m takeover of
Liverpool FC.

KUMB understands that, though Rao's interest is, at present, unconfirmed, in
the event of any serious intent, Rao's son Kiran may be involved in both the
negotiations for the purchase of the club and, ultimately for day to day
running. It was also suggested that another family relative Krishna Rao
might also be involved in any sale negotiations.

Understandably the club has yet to make a statement regarding the possible
sale and KUMB's sources suggest that media interest in the identity of the
potential new owners is being actively discouraged at the moment.
