Adrian aiming for Hull victory
WHUFc.com
The West Ham United goalkeeper Adrian is looking forward to the game against
Hull City on Monday
10.09.2014

Adrian is relishing life as West Ham United's first-choice goalkeeper after
playing every minute of the Barclays Premier League campaign so far. During
the international break, the former Real Betis player got an opportunity to
go back to his native Seville, where he spent time with his family and
friends. The No13 returned to Chadwell Heath this week refreshed and he is
looking forward to pulling on his gloves again at Hull City on Monday
evening. "I went back to Spain for a few days, to see my family, to relax.
The weather is better back home than here!" Adrian laughed. "If you're not
playing during the international break, then it is for relaxing, seeing your
friends and family. It's important to stay calm."

Due to a busy schedule, Adrian has a limited amount of time to see his
family, yet they fly over to see him play as often as possible. "My family
stayed for the first two games, and my father is coming back for the
Liverpool game," he confirmed. West Ham's last match was a disappointing 3-1
home loss by Southampton on Saturday 30 August, when the Hammers
relinquished a first-half lead to stumble to a deserved defeat. When asked
if the international break had come at a bad time, Adrian admitted he would
rather have returned to action sooner in a bid to put things right. He said:
"Whether I lose or win, I want to play the next game early. Maybe you want
to play slightly more when you lose, because the only way to improve your
performance is to play a match. "It is easier to stay strong as a defence
the more often you play. Also, you are less likely to make mistakes. And we
need to be stronger in the defence."

The break has also given new signings such as Alex Song, Diafra Sakho and
Morgan Amalfitano the opportunity to settle in to life at West Ham. "I think
they are all great signings," enthused the goalkeeper. "Some are experienced
players such as Alex Song and other internationals such as Cheikhou Kouyate
and Enner Valencia. We also have other good players like Mauro Zarate and
Diego Poyet, who is young but he is very good. "The new signings and old
players together are very good, we form a very good team. We have a better,
more competitive team than last season."

An added bonus for Adrian is the influx of Spanish speakers to the Club in
recent weeks! "Yeah, I speak a lot with Enner, Diego and Mauro. The language
is important, especially as Enner doesn't speak much English yet, so I try
to help him when I can, in training and with other teammates."

The Hammers' next game is away to Hull City on Monday 15 September. Speaking
about the team's preparation for the match at the KC Stadium,. Adrian says
they will be ready for Steve Bruce's side. "We have had a long week for
preparation. I think after the break every player will be strong, near to
100%.
"Sometimes you need a break to allow you to come back strong. I think we
have a good group with some injured players coming back, maybe Matt Jarvis
and Carl Jenkinson, while Amalfitano is also training."

Another player likely to feature at the KC Stadium is ex-West Ham midfielder
Mohamed Diame, who left on transfer deadline day to join the Tigers. "It's
hard for me because Mo Diame was my best friend last season. I know him as a
friend. I think he is a good player, but he decided to leave. Players come
and go, this is the life of a footballer. I hope all the best for him, but I
hope we get the three points against Hull more."

Assessing West Ham's start to the season, Adrian said three points was not a
fair reflection of their overall play in the opening three league matches
and he hopes to add to that tally at Hull. "I think in the first two games
we showed two very good performances. "We were unlucky against Tottenham to
concede in the last minute. But the second game against Crystal Palace away,
in a difficult stadium we got the three points. I think we were
disappointing against Southampton, the performance was not very good and we
know we need to improve."

Chadwell Chatter
WHUFC.com
Mark Noble blogs about captaining his boyhod club, playing alongside the new
signings and facing Mo Diame
11.09.2014

Hello!

This is the first Chadwell Chatter I've written this season and I don't know
if you'd agree but our last match feels like a long time ago. It's always
disappointing to lose at home, but particularly in the manner we did against
Southampton. We didn't play very well at all that day. Personally, it was
nice to get off to a good start in terms of opening my goalscoring account.
My shot got a bit of a deflection but as they say, if you don't shoot, you
don't score!

Another positive for me has been captaining the side during Kevin Nolan's
injury. I've been the vice-captain for the last three years but it's another
step up and a big honour for me and my family. To captain the team I've
supported since I was a young boy is a massive honour. While we've had to
wait for the next game to come round, the international break has given our
new signings an opportunity to settle in. Obviously with nine new players
coming in, it's going to take a while for us to blend together, that's only
natural.

Already, we're starting to know what each other's games are, and we're just
enjoying playing with one another. We're all starting to bed in and I'm sure
we'll get the rewards from that soon. I'd say this current squad is one of
the strongest I've been involved with. I've had some good squads in the past
and this is right up there with the best of them. However, what I would say
is, the strength of the squad doesn't matter when you compare it to the
position in the league. It's fine to have a good squad in training or on
paper, but it's on the pitch that really counts. We need to improve from our
game last Saturday and go to Hull and get a result. Another bonus of having
a big squad is the increased competition for places. I think it can only be
a good thing otherwise people get complacent or take their foot off the
pedal. Alongside the new signings we've got lots of young players trying to
get into the team. It makes you train 100 percent every day, that can only
be a positive for us. Our next match is away to Hull and I think they made
some good summer signings. They've done well over the last couple of years
in fact, getting promoted, reaching the FA Cup final and getting into
Europe. So we know it'll be a tough place to go on Monday night, but we're
all looking forward to it.

One of Hull's most recent signings is Mo Diame. It'll be nice to see Mo
again, he made his decision to leave and play elsewhere and fair play to
him. I have no doubt he'll play on Monday night because he's a talented
player. It'll be a challenge to play against him, but I'm looking forward to
it.

Another signing the club has made is bringing Teddy Sheringham into the
coaching squad. I remember watching him as I grew up so to learn from him is
a great opportunity. He's been concentrating on the attacking players,
helping us to get into good positions at the right times. Hopefully the
players can benefit from his experience over the coming months.

After the Hull game we have a big game at home against Liverpool. We won't
be focusing on it until after Monday night, but it's always good to test
yourself against the best teams in the league and Liverpool are right at the
top at the moment. We'll need to make sure we play to our best to try and
get something out of the game.

Have a good weekend!

Zarate focusing on Hull match
WHUFC.com
West Ham United's Mauro Zarate is happy to be back in English football with
the Hammers
11.09.2014

West Ham United's Mauro Zarate is settling well into life at the Boleyn
Ground. The former Lazio and Internazionale man scored an impressive 19
goals in 29 games on his return to Velez Sarsfield, the club where he
started his career as a youth team player, last season. The 27-year-old was
quick to open his account for the Hammers with a stunning volley against
Crystal Palace, too. "It was a nice goal, but it is only one," he said - a
sign of his obvious ambition. "I have to continue that performance and work
hard. After that we lost to Southampton, we didn't play very well. We have
to come back strongly."

The Argentine has already had a taste of English football in a brief loan
spell at Birmingham City in 2008. He scored four goals in 14 appearances yet
it was not enough to save them from relegation. Given a second chance to
shine on these shores, the No10 is keen to take it. Speaking of his
excitement at being back in the Barclays Premier League, Zarate said: "I am
very happy being at West Ham, it is a very nice club, and it has big
ambition. It is a big step for my career."

Zarate is a versatile player who can play as a striker, out on either wing
or behind the striker. However, Zarate is clear which position he prefers:
"I like to play the free role, in between the midfielder and striker, the
position I have played in, in the last few games."

Due to the international break, Zarate has had a long time to wait for the
Hammers' next game, away to Hull City on Monday 15 September. It is one he
knows West Ham will have to work hard to get a positive result from
following the Tigers' capture of Hatem Ben Arfa, Gaston Ramirez, Abel
Hernandez and Mohamed Diame. "Yes, I am very excited," he confirmed. "It is
a hard match, as they have new players who are very technical. We have to
work hard and play well, and if we do we will win the match."

West Ham's next home game is against Liverpool on Saturday 20 September, yet
Zarate refuses to be distracted from the game at the KC Stadium. "Liverpool
at home is a very big match and I am looking forward to it, but first we
have to think about the Hull match and after that we'll focus on Liverpool.
"I just want to score as many goals as possible. I'd like to score more than
ten goals, that would be very nice."

U21s ready for Reds clash
WHUFC.com
Nick Haycock's U21s return to action with a fixture with Liverpool at the
Boleyn Ground on Friday
11.09.2014

Nick Haycock's youngsters return to action with a Barclays U21 Premier
League fixture with Liverpool at the Boleyn Ground on Friday. West Ham
United are without a win in three league games played so far, having been
edged out 2-1 by Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton and drawn 1-1 at
Manchester City last time out. However, performances have not been rewarded
by results and Haycock is hopeful his players will make the most of playing
under the Boleyn Ground floodlights on Friday evening. "The lads are really
excited to be playing on the Boleyn Ground pitch again and West Ham United
versus Liverpool is a great advert for the Under-21 Premier League," he
said. "We had two or three good games with Liverpool over the last couple of
seasons, tight games, and we've shared the spoils. We won one and lost one
against them last year. "It'll be no different on Friday night, because we
know how they play and they know how we play. It'll be two sides going at it
and the midfield battle will be key. We've done some work in the midfield
area to stop Liverpool getting into a rhythm and we hope we can exploit any
weaknesses they show on the night."

While Haycock should have the likes of Dan Potts, Elliot Lee, Blair Turgott,
Danny Whitehead and Sean Maguire - back from a loan spell in his native
Republic of Ireland with Sligo Rovers - to call upon on Friday, one player
he will be without is Matthias Fanimo, who has joined League Two club
Tranmere Rovers on a temporary basis. "It's a similar squad to the one we
put out against Manchester City," Haycock confirmed. "We might make one or
two changes, but we'll look at it again on the morning of the game and
finalise the team then. "Matthias has gone out on loan, but other than that
we have no other injury issues."

Liverpool U21s have played two league matches so far this term, winning 1-0
at Sunderland and drawing 1-1 at home with Manchester United.

Team news-wise, the Reds will be able to call upon the likes of powerful
midfielder Jordan Rossiter, tricky winger Harry Wilson, promising Spanish
midfielder Sergi Canos and prolific Germany youth international striker
Samed Yesil.

Kick-off at the Boleyn Ground on Friday is at 7pm. Admission is charged at
£3 Adults and £1 Concessions, while Season Ticket Holders can attend for
FREE!

West Ham United winger Matthias Fanimo has joined League Two side Tranmere
Rovers on loan
11.09.2014

West Ham United winger Matthias Fanimo has joined League Two side Tranmere
Rovers on loan. The 20-year-old has initially linked up with the Super White
Army until 11 October 2014, and the loan spell can be extended through to
January 2015. A former England U18 international, Fanimo has appeared three
times for the Hammers at first-team level - twice in the League Cup and once
in the FA Cup - since making his debut in a League Cup second-round win over
Crewe Alexandra at the Boleyn Ground in August 2012. Lambeth-born Fanimo
heads to Prenton Park in good form, having scored four goals in a behind
closed doors friendly victory over Ipswich Town last week. He could make his
Tranmere debut at Hartlepool United on Saturday, while Rob Edwards' side
also face home league games with Newport County, Exeter City and Plymouth
Argyle and trips to Carlisle United and Bury during his initial loan stint.
Fanimo becomes the third West Ham player out on loan, as forward Modibo
Maiga is with French Ligue 1 club FC Metz for the season and midfielder
George Moncur is at League One side Colchester United until January.

Matthias Fanimo: Tranmere Rovers loan West Ham winger
BBC.co.uk

Tranmere Rovers have signed West Ham United winger Matthias Fanimo on an
initial one-month youth-loan deal. The 20-year-old has made three first-team
appearances for West Ham, having come through the club's youth academy,
Tranmere boss Rob Edwards told the club website: "Matthias is a player
we've been watching for a while and I'm pleased to be able to bring him
here. "He'll add to our attacking options, is a player who likes to run at
defenders and can score goals too."

The former England Under-18 international's loan agreement could be extended
until January. Fanimo scored four goals in his last match for a West Ham
United XI in a 5-1 win against an Ipswich Town XI.

Matthias Fanimo has joined Tranmere Rovers on loan. The youngster was
recently in the news for scoring four against Ipswich Town in a
behind-closed-doors friendly - even if Diadra Sakho's wonder goal stole the
show that day. But just over a week later he has been shipped out to the
League Two club on a youth loan. Tranmere boss Rob Edwards told the club's
website: "Matthias is a player we've been watching for a while and I'm
pleased to be able to bring him to Tranmere. "We've signed him on a youth
loan so he can spend some time with us and hopefully we can help him develop
and he can help us on the pitch.
"He'll add to our attacking options and is a player who likes to run at
defenders and can score goals too. "I'd like to thank Sam Allardyce and
West Ham for allowing Matthias to join us."

LOVE WILL TEAR US APART: MY WEST HAM LIFE.
By Bianca Westwood 11 Sep 2014 at 08:00
West Ham Till I Die

I don't really recall the 1980 cup final. I just remember the chaos in our
home that day, and the raucous celebrations late into the night. That was
football?! I wanted some of that! And so a little while later, we went.

It wasn't a choice. There was no decision. It was instant. A feeling. A
falling. It was love at first sight. Of course it was exciting for a 6 year
old kid to be out at night. Surrounded by adults. I had discovered a sense
of belonging. I was a new member of what seemed to me the most exclusive
club in the world. It felt like all the fun of the fair with the bright
lights and stark sounds, the smell of the burger van, the palpable energy in
the atmosphere. But this was different. This urgency, the nervous vibration,
the tension-filled quality of the air. Bustled through the turn stiles, my
tiny hand holding onto my step-dad's coat, unknowingly about to take a giant
leap into a life-long love affair. And there it was, the flood-lit pitch,
the verdant lawn of the beautiful Boleyn, voices hurling "our song" into the
dark skies, the players emerge, thunderous applause, the cries of "United"
united…and that was me, done.

Forever West Ham from that day forward. I was there.

Over the next few years we watched our team as often as we could afford.
Thrilling late nights staying up to watch Match Of The Day. My dad (God rest
his soul) was NOT amused. He was a Tottenham fan and his first-born was well
on her way to becoming his football rival. I remember dancing around his
living room singing Bubbles holding the back page of the newspaper aloft and
the headline screaming 10-0!!!! We'd beaten Bury in the league cup and MY
team had scored ten. He must have been crushed. We'd never have that
football bond. Instead I'd revel in our victories against Spurs and refuse
to come to the phone if we lost. Which happened more often than I would have
wanted!

But the joy of being a Hammer was intoxicating. The boys of '86 were in the
ascendancy. Whilst my school friends were flirting with spotty kids, I was
11 and chanting in the North Bank…allowed at last to go alone. Two buses
from Chingford with my mate, quid to get in, crowd surges & songs, banter
with the "lads", my step-dad keeping a watchful eye on me from the McDonalds
family enclosure above the chicken run.

Cottee and McAvennie, Ray Stewart, Wardy, Devo, Georgie Parris, Alvin Alvin
Martin, Galey and Dickens, Phil Parkes, Kevin Keen, Neil Orr, and not
forgetting super sub Paul Hilton. My formative years a girl amongst men.
Johnny Lyall's claret & blue army. I was a delirious soldier.

A few moments from that glorious season stuck with me. Mark Ward's volley to
equalise against United and Cottee's winner. McAvennie's little skip after
putting the fourth past the post at Stamford Bridge. Beating Newcastle 8-1,
Alvin's hat-trick against three different goalkeepers. Finishing third. I
was there. Feeling like the future was golden…it was ours. And I was there.

I don't need to tell you all this. You already know. But for me this is
where it all began.

A very young Hammer
I sent TC a valentines card that year, I ran onto the pitch on the final
home game of the season & told Frankie I loved him. Ah the mortifying
awkwardness of a schoolgirl's adoration! But that's not the most
embarrassing story. Oh no! At the time my mum's friend was a pet groomer and
looked after Mark Ward's dog. Somehow it transpired that Wardy was having a
new bathroom installed and he was getting rid of the old suite. Yes we'd
have it! We didn't need one of course, but we all traipsed round to his
house in Loughton, mum, step-dad and us four kids in tow. Slack-jawed and
open-mouthed when our diminutive idol opened the door. We were like
something out of Shameless and shameless we were. We loaded up the suite in
the van, buzzing all the way home and dumped it the next day. Yes this is
how far our love travelled. Cringe! Had I known then how my profession would
bring me so close to some of my childhood heroes that I would eventually
call them friends and colleagues I would have imploded.

The intervening years haven't been as kind to us as we believed they'd be
during those halcyon days. It's axiomatic to say it's a turbulent existence
being a Hammer. But it's true.

From relegations to promotions. Bonzo's leadership into the Premier League
years and the happy nonchalance of the Redknapp regime. Dicksy blasting
pens. Di Canio proving HE was the don against Wimbledon. "I do not believe
that!" Martin Tyler couldn't and neither could I. Oh yes I was there. Then
came the Roeder to nowhere. Watching Sam Allardyce and Jay Jay Okocha dance
on our relegated grave at Bolton, even the great Sir Trevor couldn't save us
that year but we gave it our all. Play-offs with Pards, against Palace we
were "Shipped" off back to the Championship, against Preston, I was Bobby's
girl. I was there.

Villa Park we toppled the Boro, the Millennium stadium, those first 90
minutes seemed like the best of my life. Then Stevie G broke my heart. From
the desolation of that journey back down the M4 to the sheer joy of Tevez
saving our skins at Old Trafford. Actually that day I wasn't there. I was in
the gallery on Soccer Saturday. Surrounded by screens, matches, action.
Calling the goals for the Executive Producer so he knew which ground to go
to. Which reporter to call upon. I didn't get much work done that day.

The Icelandics followed. The geezers from the geysers leaving devastation in
their wake.

Zola, Sullivan, Gold, Grant (moving on!) And Sam. No more cutting the rug.
The man tasked with bringing back those blissful bygone days from my
childhood. Dividing opinion. Do we like it, or literally "lump" it??

I am there for it all. I always will be. Now I have a beautiful baby niece
Lyla who I'm determined to bring beyond the claret & blue velvet ropes. I
could leave her to the atmosphere void of her father's Arsenal allegiance.
There could be silverware on the north London horizon. But eeeewww to be a
gooner?!?

It's been excruciating at times. Devastating. Embarrassing. Humiliating.
It's a love that will tear us apart, again. YET "there's still this
appeal/That we've kept through our lives." I'm there.

How can I deny her the ferocious fever of our West Ham fandom? It's
iron-clad. And hopefully for her, like me, it won't be a choice.

Those are my memories. What are yours?

LADIES BACK TO WINNING WAYS AT LEWES
By Tommy Wathen 10 Sep 2014 at 22:32
West Ham Till I Die

West Ham Ladies recovered from two defeats in five days to beat Lewes Ladies
at The Dripping Pan on Sunday.

The Hammers headed south for their third match in a single week after
crashing out of the FA Women's Premier League Cup at Keynsham Ladies and
losing Julian Dicks' first competitive home fixture at home against Spurs.

Dicks named a changed line up from the one that started last Thursday
evening at home to Spurs. Lily Mellors, Zoe Lipley-Hinton and Katie Bottom
were included in the starting squad in place of Lindsey Morgan, Kelley
Blanchflower and Jess Barling.

The visitors could've been ahead within the opening ten minutes from a
Stacey Little header, but goalkeeper Stacey Parkinson kept the Hammers
skipper out.

Just seven minutes later and the Hammers did lead through a Little header
from a Sarah McCrea corner, punishing the home side for refusing to learn
from their earlier mistakes.

As the game progressed, Lewes came back stronger and began pressuring the
Hammers back line with several efforts on goal, although Nikita Runnacles
was equal to all of the efforts that the Lewes attack could throw at the
former Millwall stopper.

With the three points in the bag, West Ham Ladies host Copsewood Coventry
Ladies this coming Sunday at Aveley FC (2pm kick off) with admission just £4
for adults and £2 for U16's.

P.S. The Ladies fundraising page recently flew past the £2000 mark! On
behalf of all the girls and staff at WHULFC, I know they would like to thank
everyone at WHTID that is donating and raising awareness for the page.

£7m West Ham summer target in Facebook rant - 'I love to play here'
HITC
Mathew Nash

Vedad Ibisevic has launched a scathing attack on the media after a recent
interview of his was published. An interview he claims never happened. This
summer West ham were one of many club's believed to be after the signature
of VfB Stuttgart striker Vedad Ibisevic. The Bosnian, who scored for his
country last week, was reportedly the subject of an unsuccessful £7 million
bid from The Hammers in July - as Sam Allardyce looked to bolster his
front-line. He was also targeted by Turkish outfit Trabzonspor. But he
seemed to give hop to those teams still interested in the 30-year-old
goal-getter with these reported quotes at the weekend.
He was believed to have said: "I stayed but you never know, if a good offer
comes in, I may leave. Vahid Halilhodzic and Trabzonspor contacted me and
offered me great conditions. West Ham also wanted me, but Stuttgart did not
want to sell this summer. The club had made some changes and the goal is a
mid-table position. I have bigger ambitions so that is why I may yet leave."

That gave teams hope in their pursuit of the striker, who has scored an
impressive 47 goals in 95 games for the Bundesliga outfit. But he has now
denied that this interview ever even took place. He took to his official
Facebook account to post this statement regarding the recent interview, and
seemingly ruling out an exit from Stuttgart - where he claimed he 'loves to
play'. "I would like to take this opportunity to comment on this fictional
interview with me. I never said that I have higher standards than my club
VfB Stuttgart and I want to get away. This is simply a lie.So I come
publicly, just not on. "But what surprised me was that it was written at
all. The media, particularly in Stuttgart just want a to paint a false
picture of me and looking for ways to write as negative of me as possible.
So I am not like to show it you. "But people unfortunately believe in what
they see. I had offers, but I stayed in Stuttgart because I love to play
here. I am a professional who will always do my best for the club and I will
always be that way!" So it would seem Ibisevic is happy with his decision to
stay with Stuttgart and that for the foreseeable that will remain the case.

Diame grabbed healthy Hull rise

Mohamed Diameis understood to have 'trousered' a healthy rise of around £10k
to join the club this summer. ClaretandHugh has learned that Steve Bruce
"went all the way" in his pursuit of a player he has admired for a long
time. And Diame is now believed to be on personal terms of around £55k a
week.
Diame – who was also hunted by Crystal Palace -eventually joined ambitious
City and a Hammers source said: "With a year left we weren't going to stand
in his way – that wouldn't have been right. "With what we were doing in the
market, the deal for Diame fitted our situation and my understanding is that
he got a hefty increase from Hull of around £10k."

67 Hammers have football banning orders
Posted by Sean Whetstone on September 11, 2014 in Whispers
Claret & Hugh

The Home Office have released details on football banning orders and arrests
with West Ham United being listed as the third highest number of banning
orders at 67 behind Chelsea at 91 and Newcastle at 127. This was a small
increase on the 65 banning orders in place for Hammers fans this time last
year.

West Ham fans had 16 new banning orders issued to them within the past 12
months, up from 14 last year meaning 51 of the 67 existing banning orders
are for historic offences.

There were 37 Hammers fans arrested in the last 12 months with just 11 at
the Boleyn Ground and the remaining 26 at away matches. This is a 45%
decrease from the 67 fans arrested in the previous 12 months. 9 of these
arrests were for violent disorder, 13 for public disorder, 1 for pitch
invasion, 13 alcohol related offences and one case of an offence against
property.

On a positive note there were no West Ham arrests for missile throwing,
racist or indecent chanting, ticket touting, possession of an offensive
weapon or possession of fireworks or flares.

Speaking to Claret and Hugh, Football Supporters Federation case worker
Amanda Jacks said "Arrest figures tell a fraction of the story, we need to
know how arrests led to fans being charged and how many of those charges
there after led to convictions. It is also worth pointing out that in our
experience banning orders are applied for regardless of the offence and
regardless of the history of the offender"

Hammers Academy youngster Matthias Fanimo looks set to join League Two
Tranmere Rovers on loan according to various report. The 20-year-old
midfielder once dubbed himself the fastest the player in football after he
published his GPS tracking results on social media. The results showed he
match Antonio Valencia and outpaced Theo Walcott and Aaron Lennon. He also
outpaced Real Madrid stars Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo. Fanimo has
made three appearances for West Ham, all in cup games, and has represented
England at U16, U17 and U18 levels. Fanimo signed his first professional
contract with the Hammers in the summer of 2011 and made his first team
debut for West Ham on 28th August 2012 against Crewe in the league cup
coming on as a 60th minute substitute for Matt Taylor. West Ham won the
match 2–0. Last week Fanimo scored four goals in a behind the scenes game

Andy Carroll is insisting privately that he can make the October 25 return
predicted earlier this week. The big striker is working hard and desperate
to make the team for the clash against his hometown club Newcastle United on
the 29th. The website www.physioroom.com gave the 25th as the return date
earlier this week before it mysteriously disappeared the next day. And this
morning a Hammers insider told Claretandhugh exclusively: "Speak to Andy and
he will tell you he'll be back for the 25th. "Speak to the physios and
medical staff and they will tell you it will be nearer the end of November.
"It's likely to be somewhere between the two I'd imagine – perhaps
Sunderland at the Stadium of Light but he is doing very well at the moment."

Irons believing for an injury-free Carroll future
Posted by Hugh5outhon1895 on September 11, 2014 in Whispers
Claret & Hugh

West Ham are now becoming increasingly confident that once Andy Carroll
returns to action he will be free of 'historic injury' problems. The
plantar fascia injury he suffered last season is now completely under
control and the extensive surgery on his ankle this season should ensure
there are no repeats of a problem that has followed him for three or four
years. Carroll – as reported earlier on Claretandhugh – is doing everything
in his power to be ready for the clash against Newcastle towards the end of
next month. But physios are determined the striker is handled with great care
as he builds towards rejoining the first team squad and see November as
still the most liklely option. A source explained to ClaretandHugh
exclusively: "The ankle injury shouldn't have been left as long as it has
been but the surgery has now rebuilt the ankle. In normal circumstances he
will now be fine with it. "The heel injury (plantar fascia) was an unknown
issue at the time but all our medics are now entirely familiar with it and
know how to handle it. "There has been no repeat because our medics know
exactly how to maintain the situation. We are all as confident of an
injury-free future " He added: We believe that when we get Andy back from
his present problem we really we have a new player on our hands who is on a
level playing field with everybody else and given normal luck could be
injury free for a long time to come.".
