Cottee keen on Arsenal showdown
WHUFC.com
Though Tony Cottee only ever once tasted victory at Arsenal as a West Ham
United player, the Hammers legend thinks players and supporters alike will
be relishing the prospect of an opening-day trip to the Emirates Stadium in
August. It's an exciting way to start, albeit not the easiest game for
Slaven's first match! It's been quite a while since we won at Arsenal, not
in Liverpool terms, I know, but it's certainly been a few years. I always
believe if you're going to play the big boys, you're better off playing them
early in the season when they've perhaps not found their rhythm. Arsenal
don't always get out of the blocks that quickly, particularly last season,
they had a very sluggish start, so let's hope we can get them on an off day.
But they have some fantastic footballers and I'm pretty certain they're
going to buy some more. Petr Cech's obviously been linked with making a move
across London and it'd be hard work getting past him. As far as I'm
concerned they'll be one of the favourites for the title, so let's not
underestimate them by any means. I must confess, I can't remember too many
victories at the old Highbury in my playing days. There were a few
creditable draws, but not too many wins if my memory serves me well. I
obviously never had the pleasure of playing at the Emirates, but it's a
fantastic stadium. It's a great venue for our fans for the first match of
the season, with a new manager as well, and I think it's one the supporters
will really be looking forward to. It's always nice to have a glamour game
first up, which we've got, and then to follow up with two home games. Under
normal circumstances, you'd be pretty confident of getting at least four
points out of games against Leicester City and Bournemouth. Let's not
forget Leicester had an excellent end to the season and they'll be full of
confidence. Bournemouth, as we know, have got some fantastic footballers and
thoroughly deserve their place in the Premier League. They're going to come
to West Ham and play their stuff. They're not going to be scared of anyone
this season. I don't expect either to be easy.
As for the last game at the Boleyn, it's probably for the best. There's
going to be so much focus and attention on what's going on off the field,
it's probably a good job we're not playing one of the big boys. Swansea are
a good footballing team and I'm sure it'll be a good football match but the
day will all be about reminiscing and the fans, showing their appreciation
to what's been a fantastic home for us. We all know we've got to move on
and we're all looking forward to moving to the new Stadium, but it's going
to be a very emotional day against Swansea. One to look forward to, no doubt
about that. It's such an important season for the Club and it's a really
exciting time. We've got an excellent young manager in place now and I think
we can all look forward to an enjoyable last season at the Boleyn Ground. I
was always certain there was going to be a buzz around the place, provided
we appointed the right manager, and in my opinion we have done.
Come on you Irons,

Sullivan relishing tough opener
WHUFC.com
West Ham United Joint-Chairman David Sullivan believes the Club could not
have been handed a tougher start to the Premier League campaign but feels
they are good enough to cause a big surprise on the opening day of the new
season. Slaven Bilic will take his new side to north London for a testing
first game against the FA Cup holders Arsenal at Emirates Stadium on August
8. West Ham will then play two home games at the Boleyn Ground against
Leicester on August 15 and newly promoted Bournemouth on August 22. Mr
Sullivan hopes the Club will be able to get some points on the board early
on in the season and can also enjoy a lengthy run in the Europa League.
Sullivan said: "It couldn't be a tougher start for us than Arsenal away.
Since we have been back in the Premier League we have have never got a point
from Arsenal. "But often it is a good time to play the top sides early on in
the season. We have some really tough away games early on and some must win
home games. So its an exciting and challenging start and hopefully we are
still in Europe at that time. "The final ever game at the Boleyn Ground
against Swansea on May 7 will be emotional for everyone at the club. As a
fan I know how hard it is going to be. "I think it will be very special
throughout the season as we honour the Academy and have some of the old
legends coming back as part of our line-up. "It will be emotional and sad
but we have such exciting times ahead with the move to the new Stadium. "I
think this is the most exciting time for West Ham and I would urge the fans
to get on the waiting list for the new stadium if they are not a current
Season Ticket Holder. "They will see the final season at the Boleyn Ground
and it will be very difficult to get tickets for a game. The Season Ticket
numbers are the highest we have seen for decades and the new Stadium could
be the same."

Tomkins looks for positive start
WHUFC.com
James Tomkins is looking forward to an exciting kick-off for West Ham United
when they travel across London to face Arsenal on 8 August. The Hammers
defender says that while it will be a tough match at the Emirates, there is
no reason why the team can't go there with a bid to upset the odds. "It's a
tough game to start with, but one we will relish and look forward to. While
results haven't been kind to us in recent times there, it is the first day
of the season and we will go there confident we can do well. "All teams are
in the same position – they will have new players to settle in and sometimes
they do say it can be good to play a top four side right at the start. They
will be buzzing from the FA Cup win, but as I said, it is the first day, a
new season, everyone fresh and everyone will be going into these first games
looking to kick-off with a good result."
With matches against Leicester City and Bournemouth at home before ending
August with an away trip to Liverpool, Tomkins says having a good start to
the season is important.
"We would look to try and start off positively at home as well, especially
with it being our last season at the Boleyn Ground and wanting to give the
ground a good send-off in our homes games there this year. "But you saw how
Leicester finished the season, they will bring the confidence they gained
from that and the Bournemouth lads will be out to show what they can do and
get off to a good start. "We finish the month with a trip to Liverpool,
which is also tough but we will be going out to make a strong start. Points
on the board early do help, especially when you do have a difficult part of
the season, those points early doors can help you get into a nice position
from which you can go on from. "I can't wait for the start of the season.
For me, although it was great to get on for the last game against Newcastle,
as I have been injured, it seems like ages since I have played. I can't
wait."
An Academy graduate who has made his way through the ranks, West Ham's No5
knows more than most what an emotional season it will be coming up as the
Club looks to say a fitting goodbye to the Boleyn Ground before the exciting
move to the new Stadium. The last home match on 7 May will be against
Swansea and Tomkins says that will be something historic to be part of.
"That is going to be some game for everyone associated with the Club. Fans,
players, everyone. Again, no game will be easy, Swansea are tough. But we
will be determined to send the ground off with a winning result and that is
what we will be trying to do. "It's an exciting time for the club, making
sure we can give the ground a good send-off and then looking forward to the
move to the new Stadium, we are all looking forward to it."

Jenkinson snubs Sunderland, wants West Ham move
KUMB.com
Filed: Wednesday, 17th June 2015
By: Staff Writer
Carl Jenkinson has rejected the opportunity to move to Sunderland - in
favour of a return to West Ham. Although Premier League rivals Sunderland
are understood to have offered to pay the £2million loan fee Arsenal are
demanding for the former England Under 21, Jenkinson has told both clubs
that he would prefer to remain in London. And the 23-year-old's destination
of choice remains West Ham, who remain strongly interested in bringing the
player back to Upton Park - but are currently unwilling to meet Arsenal's
excessive demands. Jenkinson enjoyed a successful season on loan at the
Boleyn Ground last term where he made 36 appearances for Sam Allardyce's
side. West Ham remain keen on bringing the £8million-rated defender back to
east London but only on a temporary basis, for now. New manager Slaven
Bilic, who was unveiled as the club's 15th full time manager a week ago has
thus far made just one signing since being appointed - that of Sampdoria
midfielder Pedro Obiang. West Ham's Board had previously signed rookie
defender Stephen Hendrie (from Hamilton) and experienced 'keeper Darren
Randolph (Birmingham) for nominal fees.

The club's ITK has told us this afternoon that a rumoured return for Demba
BA is unlikely even though the club admire the striker. The insider rejects
the ridiculous story that Steve McLaren would try to buy West Ham's top goal

as he is not for sale. The Boleyn Insider goes on to say that with Andy
Carroll working hard on regaining his fitness and Enner Valencia set to make
a late return following his appearance at the Copa America we are only
likely to make re-enforcements in the striker area. The mystery insider says
the Club are working hard on trying to sign three or four more players.

West Ham are edging closer to signing their top summer target in
£12million-rated Marseille midfielder Dimitri Payet. The 28-year-old is
reportedly keen on a move to the Premier League and we understand the Irons
and Marseilles are getting closer on the fee. Payet is faced with taking an
automatic wage drop of around £12,000 a week with the French outfit failing
to qualify for the Champions League. And although he has a good
relationship with Marcelo Bielsa – who wants him to stay and has asked the
club to re-negotiate his contract – the Mail is reporting a move to the
Premier League appeals from every point of view to the player. An Irons
insider explained to us that talks are continuing and although it is an
expensive deal they are keen on sorting out a deal if it proves possible.

West Ham's "Boleyn Insider"really is a bit of a wag isn't he? And we've come
to the conclusion he's actually a closet ClaretandHugh follower after
reading his latest column which was updated at 22.49 last night (Tues). In a
massively not so exclusive story about Carlos Tevez the ITK told us all
proudly: "I can exclusively reveal that the move will not take place as the
Argentine players wages would be too much for West Ham to take him back. "I
have heard the Club have a wage cap of £64m. I understand that a move for
Tevez would take up a significant amount on the wage budget on players and
that would affect any future signings."
Now that would all be fine except that six hours earlier (our site dashboard
shows: Published on: Jun 16, 2015 @ 15:57) we had reported precisely the
same under the headline "Tevez the truth." We even quoted a club source as
saying:" He's on £250k a week and our wage cap is £64m including employers
NI. Of 14 per cent! If we had him we could only afford about 12 players !"
Good try 'Boleyn' but no cigar! Welcome to the tricky world of summer

West Ham transfer news: Newcastle told Diafra Sakho is not for sale
Evening Standard
KEN DYER

West Ham are adamant that they have no intention of selling striker Diafra
Sakho, despite interest from Newcastle. Steve McClaren, the new boss at St
James' Park, is said to be looking at Sakho but the Hammers see the
25-year-old Senegal international as integral to their plans. West Ham's new
manager Slaven Bilic is keen to add to his striking department rather than
dilute it and have already made enquiries about QPR's Charlie Austin and
Chelsea's Loic Remy. Sakho, signed from Metz for £4million last summer, was
an instant hit last season scoring in six successive Premier League matches
early on. Injuries then disrupted his progress but he still finished with 12
goals from 26 games in his first season in England. One player who looks
unlikely to be returning to the club is Demba Ba. The Senegal striker played
under Bilic at Besiktas in Turkey and has been reported to be keen on
linking up again with his former boss.
Potential difficulties over a work permit — Senegal are outside the world's
top 50 Fifa-ranked countries and Ba has not played the required number of
internationals — mean that West Ham are likely to look elsewhere.

Celtic star 'ready' for Premier League move as Arsenal, West Ham and
Southampton eye £9million bids
Lobndon 24
13:54 17 June 2015
Former Celtic defender Tosh McKinlay believes Celtic still hold all the aces
in their battle to keep hold of Virgil van Dijk but admits he is ready for a
big money move. The £9million-rated Dutchman is a target for Premier League
sides Arsenal, West Ham, Spurs Sunderland and Southampton. And the
23-year-old did little to hide his desire for a switch south when he was
quoted last week saying "sometimes it's time to make a move". But with two
years remaining on the Hoops contract the former Groningen centre-half
penned in 2013, McKinlay says he will be going nowhere unless Parkhead boss
Ronny Deila agrees to it. The retired ex-Celtic full-back - speaking at the
annual Glasgow Taxis charity Outing to Troon send-off in Glasgow - said: "It
would be a blow to lose the big man. "I was lucky enough to see George
Connelly in his prime and Virgil reminds me very much of George.
"Personally, I think another season at Celtic Park would stand Virgil in
very good stead, but it remains to be seen if he and the club think it is
time for him to go. "Is he ready to make that step up to the Premier League
down south? I think so, but it all depends on who comes in for him. "The
good thing for Celtic is that they are the ones in control. They can decide
whether to let him go or not because Virgil is still under contract. "It
will be their call if they want him to stay at Celtic Park for another year.
"I'm sure, though, that they will be sitting down over the next couple of
weeks to decide what his future is going to be." McKinlay hopes Delia
lingers long enough over a decision on van Dijk's future that he is still
around to play a part in Celtic's Champions League qualifying bid. But he
warned his old side not to delay too much when mulling over bids for fresh
talent. In recent years, chief executive Peter Lawwell has waited to see how
the Hoops fare in those early-season duels which grant entry to the group
stages before releasing his grip on the club's purse strings. But 1995
Scottish Cup winner McKinlay said: "These Champions League qualifiers are
crucial for Celtic, but they come very early, so it's important that
whatever players are coming in, they are bedded in for pre-season so that
they know what is required for the group stages. "Dedryck Boyata has come in
already and he will be a good addition to the squad. "In the past with
players coming in, it's just been about timing. Celtic will try to do their
business early, but contracts can take a long time to get over the line
sometimes. "But I'm sure Celtic will want to get guys in early ahead of the
Champions League proper because it is so important to the club that these
big European nights come back to Celtic Park. "Last year was a bit false
start with having to play the qualifiers at Murrayfield. But now we're
taking the games back to Parkhead, the place will be on fire, there's no
doubt about that."

Which of these West Ham stars should replace Kevin Nolan as captain for new
era under Slaven Bilic?
HITC
Damien Lucas
With West Ham United skipper Kevin Nolan expected to be on his way out of
the club this summer the job of replacing him as captain is up for grabs. As
the dust settles on Sam Allardyce's departure from West Ham United and the
appointment of Slaven Bilic, the future looks bleak for Big Sam's leading
man. The former Newcastle man has gone from pivotal to pitiful in the eyes
of some West Ham United fans who think his time at the club should, like
Allardyce's, be brought to an end. Nolan has made no secret of the fact that
he likes working with Big Sam and he has been uncharacteristically quiet
since Allardyce's departure after the final day defeat at Newcastle United.
In the last couple of seasons, Nolan has become something of a scapegoat in
East London. With just one goal all of last season - his equal worst ever
return - West Ham fans have been quick to get on the Liverpudlian's back.
To his credit Nolan has helped foster a brilliant team spirit at a club that
was on its knees when he first joined in 2011 His goals since have helped
the Hammers get promoted and consolidate as a Premier League side once
again. But new boss Bilic's first move was to sign Spanish U21 international
midfielder Pedro Obiang from Sampdoria. And the club is being linked with a
host of younger, more gifted midfield stars such as Paris St Germain's Yohan
Cabaye and Marseille's Dimitri Payet.
Should Nolan leave the club, as is expected, a new captain will need to be
appointed for what is one of the most historic seasons in the club's history
- their last at the famous Boleyn Ground. It is also a season which will see
the East Londoners compete in Europe for the first time in nearly a decade,
so it promises to be a long, tough campaign. The most likely candidates for
the West Ham captaincy are Mark Noble, Winston Reid and James Collins. Noble
is a dyed-in-the-wool Hammer from birth and more importantly a first team
regular. He would be a popular choice with his fellow Hammers fans but is
coming off the back of one of his worst seasons personally in the claret and
blue. And he too will face increased competition for places from the likes
of Obiang and other targets West Ham are likely to sign. Reid is the club's
best defender and probably their most valuable asset too. The quiet Kiwi
leads by example and is a real fans' favourite at Upton Park. He was linked
with some of the Premier League's top clubs before signing a new six-year
deal with the club back in January.
Collins is a very experienced international and Premier League performer who
is on the verge of signing a two-year contract extension so good were his
performances last season. His knowledge of European football with both West
Ham on their last outing nine years ago and more recently Aston Villa, as
well playing all over Europe for Wales, means he has all the experience
needed for the job. An outsider for the captain's armband could also be cult
hero goalkeeper Adrian who is very vocal and always seen encouraging his
teammates and barking our orders from the back. He will also be working with
new 'keeper coach Chris Woods who elevated the likes of Tim Howard and David
De Gea on to new levels of performance during his time at Everton and
Manchester United respectively.

West Ham cool Yohan Cabaye interest leaving Spurs, Crystal Palace and
Newcastle in battle
London 24
11:37 17 June 2015 Brad Pinard
West Ham are yet to make a move for Yohan Cabaye this summer and he is no
longer a main target. FrenchFootball claim Spurs, Crystal Palace and
Newcastle are the three Premier League clubs to have enquired about the PSG
playmaker who looks set to move back to England this summer. Cabaye has
recently reiterated his desire to move back to the Premier League as his
time in the French capital has been a struggle. Often filling a spot on the
bench, the former Newcastle man has not made much of an impact at PSG and
with the European Championship's on France next summer, a spot in the
national team is up for grabs. Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew is a big fan
of the player he worked with at St James' Park and is eyeing an ambitious
bid to bring him to south London. Spurs are also keen with their
ever-changing midfield last season not helping the squad and Cabaye is seen
as an ideal player to help Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb flourish. Newcastle
boss Steve McClaren hopes bringing Cabaye back would be a huge boost for the
club and fans but the 29-year-old may seek a move elsewhere. West Ham and
Arsenal's interest appears to be fading so Newcastle and the London pair are
hopeful of sealing a deal.

Report: West Ham interested in signing Croatian whizkid Andrija Balic,
Tottenham also keen
HITC
Billy Hawkins
West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur have both been linked with making a move for
Andrija Balic. According to the Mirror, West Ham are keen on signing Balic
this summer, with Tottenham Hotspur also interested in the youngster. Balic,
a 17-year-old midfielder, is highly rated in his homeland, and has spent the
season playing with Hajduk Spilt. He totalled 17 appearances in all, scoring
six goals and registering two assists, and is part of the same youth
generation that has developed Croatian wonderkids Mario Pasalic and Alen
Halilovic - playing with Chelsea and Barcelona respectively. The youngster
is naturally a deep-lying playmaking midfielder, and has been likened to
former Tottenham hero Luka Modric for his style of play and ability to read
a game faster than his peers. His breakthrough in the 2014/15 campaign has
seen both the Hammers and Spurs show an interest in him, and both clubs want
to bring him to England this summer.
He has a £5 million buyout clause in his contract, which may seem excessive
for a 17-year-old, but for a player of his impressive talent, the Under-19
Croatian international seems like a bargain signing. West Ham boss Slaven
Bilic is hoping his Croatian links will swing Balic in a switch to the
Boleyn Ground, whilst Spurs can use the impressive developmental curve of
Modric to show just how good Balic can become at White Hart Lane.

Confirmed: Southampton and West Ham miss out to Hoffenheim on Pavel
Kaderabek
HITC
Mathew Nash
The Saints and Hammers wanted the Czech international this summer. According
to a report in the Czech press both West Ham United and Southampton were in
pursuit of the same talented Czech defender, Pavel Kaderabek, this summer.
iSport.cz reported that both Premier League clubs were keen on signing the
player from Czech giants Sparta Prague this summer. The report did however
mention that Bundesliga side Hoffenheim were the front-runners for his
signature - with West Ham and Southampton in pursuit along with Schalke 04.
Now it has emerged that Hoffenheim have won the race for his signature. The
talented defender becomes the second player this summer to reject the
Premier League for Hoffenheim, following in the footsteps of Fabian Schar.
Kaderabek has signed a deal until 2019 with the Bundesliga outfit.
Kaderabek is a 23-year-old right-back, a position which appealed to both
Saints and the Hammers. West Ham are to lose Carl Jenkinson in the summer,
as his loan deal from Arsenal comes to an end. Meanwhile Southampton are
concerned over the future of current right-back Nathaniel Clyne.
The powerful runner has been in great form this season and after being a
regular at youth level for the Czech Republic at youth level he has become a
fully fledged international in the past year. He currently has seven caps
and one goal for the Czech Republic since making his debut against Finland
last May.

Why West Ham should move for Spurs' DeAndre Yedlin if Jenkinson move fails
HITC
Damien Lucas
West Ham United should switch their attention to one of the stars of the
Brazil World Cup if their bid to re-sign Arsenal's Carl Jenkinson on loan
fails. Right-back DeAndre Yedlin shot to prominence during the 2014 World
Cup with some impressive performances for the USA. The 21-year-old has
blistering pace and showed great athleticism announcing himself on the
international stage with fearless displays against the likes of eventual
World Champions Germany. Spurs came calling after the World Cup to sign him
on a four-year deal from Seattle Sounders, the first six months of which he
remained with his MLS club on loan. But after just one appearance since
joining up with Tottenham in January - a 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa back in
April - and news that Mauricio Pottechino is close to signing Burnley
right-back Kieran Trippier, as reported by Sky Sports, it seems Yedlin's
future is in the balance. The Hammers are in the market for a right-back and
face stiff competition from Sunderland to re-sign Arsenal's flying right
back Jenkinson on loan for a second season. Jenkinson was one of West Ham's
best players last season and fans had hoped to see the club sign him
permanently. But reports that Sunderland have gazumped the East Londoners,
in the likes of the Daily Mail, has forced them to weigh up other targets.
Yedlin could be an ideal replacement for Jenkinson should the England
Under-21 internatonal elect not to sign up for another season. The American
is even younger and loves nothing more than bombing forward and
supplementing his side's attack just as he did during the Brazil World Cup.
Jenkinson, who was clocked as the joint fastest player in the Premier League
last season, is the more experienced of the two, though, and more reliable
defensively. However, it remains to be seen whether Spurs chairman Daniel
Levy would do business with his rivals given the fact he personally
intervened at the 11th hour to block Emmanuel Adebayor's January deadline
day switch to Upton Park.

Fan claims Allardyce 'destroyed' many players; former West Ham defender
agrees
HITC
Subhankar Mondal
Slaven Bilic has succeeded Sam Allardyce as the West Ham United manager.
Julian Dicks has suggested on social networking site Twitter that Sam
Allardyce was not good for the West Ham United players. The former West Ham
defender agreed with a Hammers fan when he claimed that Allardyce
"destroyed" many players. It is quite bold to claim that Allardyce
"destroyed" many West Ham players, and it is even more interesting that
Dicks actually agrees with the fan. Perhaps both Dicks and the West Ham
supporter feel that the former Bolton Wanderers and Newcastle United manager
prevented some of the players from playing their natural game. While that
might be true given the direct nature of football preferred by the
Englishman, it is a hyperbole to claim that he "destroyed" the players.
However, that is all in the past now. Allardyce has gone, Slaven Bilic has
come in and a new era at West Ham has begun. Perhaps under Bilic, West Ham
will play entertaining football and also compete for a European spot in the
2015-16 campaign.

Carl Jenkinson wants another West Ham loan, despite Sunderland bid
HITC
Che Thomas
The Arsenal fullback is said to be eager to remain in London, despite the
Black Cats agreeing a loan deal with his parent club. It is uncertain where
Carl Jenkinson will be playing his Premier League football next season, with
a move to Sunderland no closer amid reports West Ham retain a strong
interest in the player. Jenkinson is said to have enjoyed his loan spell at
Upton Park last season, and is happy to consider a return there for what
would be West Ham's final season at their old ground before moving to the
Olympic Stadium, according to the Mirror.
He made 36 appearances last season, including his highest ever number in the
Premier League, 32, and with Slaven Bilic taking over, could be part of an
exciting new side. Sunderland have been mentioned as being ahead of other
interested parties, having reportedly agreed a sizeable loan fee of around
£1.5 million with the Gunners for the 23-year-old, the Mirror say. But that
deal still relies on Jenkinson agreeing to move to the North-East, a big
change from the settled London life he was able to continue by moving to the
Hammers in 2014-15. Though it is believed that Bilic is open to the England
Under-21 star taking in another loan switch to East London, there is some
uncertainty as to whether West Ham will pay such a large loan fee.

Bilic shares agent with Payet & Cabaye
Posted by Sean Whetstone on June 17, 2015 in News, Whispers
C AND H
West Ham manager Slaven Bilic shares the same football agent company as
Hammers number one target Dimitri Payet.
Both are represented by the Mondial Sports Management & Consulting company.
In addition to Payet & Bilic the agency also represents another Hammers
target, Yohan Cabaye. Bilic appears to be using his contacts within his own
representatives to target players within the same group.
Another connection to the Mondial Sports Management & Consulting company
appears to agent Muzzi Oscan. The football agent, come player and security
advisor lists Mondial Sports Management & Consulting company on his work
experience on his Linkedin profile.
Earlier today Muzzi tweeted out "I am expecting very good news for West Ham
unite fans in the near future!! We are not far away!"
It has been speculated that Muzzi is speaking about a deal with Dimitri
Payet. The agent pictured here with Slave was the first to break the news on
twitter that Bilic had agreed terms with West Ham hours before an official
announcement was made. The UK based advisors is known to have strong
contacts in France and Turkey.

Final Boleyn appearance becomes "national event"

C AND H
West Ham's last Boleyn appearance is set to become a national event!
It seems 100 per cent certain the the club's history at Upton Park will
close in front of the TV cameras as the Premier League look to mark what
will be 111 years in the stadium across the country.
And the reason the club has not been given a home match for the last game of
the season is because League bosses want no distractions such as
Championship or relegation issues issues to distract from such a special
West Ham day.
It takes on great significance for the nation as whole of course because of
the Irons- inspired World Cup victory of 1966.
We have learned from sources close to the Premier League that " this appears
to be the plan" although they added: "Nothing is finalised at this stage but
it all makes perfect sense."
"I think everybody across he country would want it on TV as a national event
and on the last day other issues may get in the way of that."
The Hammers Upton Park history goes back to Thursday September 1, 1904 when
10,000 spectators watched us beat Millwall 3-0.

Tottenham join Cabaye race, West Ham close in on Alex Song, Dzeko rejects
Liverpool move – Wednesday's top transfer stories
Evening Standard
RICHARD PARRY
Published: 17 June 2015 Updated: 18:32, 17 June 2015
With the start of the summer transfer window drawing ever closer, the clubs
are constantly making moves behind the scenes. Memphis Depay's move to
Manchester United may have been the biggest of the window so far, but the
Dutchman's switch from PSV has become a mere subplot in the ever bulging
summer transfer narrative. Radamel Falcao is poised to complete a
sensational loan move to Chelsea, while Liverpool star Raheem Sterling is
set to leave Anfield. In truth, it's been on the cards ever since his agent
gave THAT interview to the Evening Standard. Elsewhere, it's all about the
goalkeeper merry-go-round.
Here's essentially what's happening...
Arsenal want Petr Cech by Chelsea do not want to sell him to the Gunners –
they would rather he joined PSG. The French side are interested but also
fancy France captain and Tottenham No1 Hugo Lloris, but he's being lined-up
to replace David de Gea at Manchester United should he end up joining Real
Madrid and dethroning Iker Casillas, who in turn has been linked with moves
to both Arsenal and Tottenham….
Failing that, here are the words of James Olley.
Keeping up so far? Here's the latest!
Tottenham are reportedly entering the race to bring Yohan Cabaye back to the
Premier League, West Ham are close to completing a permanent deal for Alex
Song, while Edin Dzeko has rebuffed Liverpool.
