West Ham United have completed the transfer of Matt Jarvis from
Wolverhampton Wanderers. The 26-year-old winger, for whom a bid just shy of
£11million was accepted by the Championship club late last night becomes Sam
Allardyce's ninth signing of the summer. Having completed a medical and
agreed personal terms, the once-capped England winger put pen to paper this
afternoon and should now be available for this weekend's trip to Swansea.
26-year-old Jarvis, who started his career at Millwall before being released
has spent the last five years at Molineux and was part of the Wolves squad
relegated from the Premier League last season. Wanderers paid Gillingham
£600,000 for Jarvis back in the summer of 2007; ironically he made his
Premier League debut against the Hammers back in 2009 following Wolves'
promotion to the top flight. Thus far he has made one appearance for
England, coming on as a substitute against Ghana in a 2011 friendly.
The news is expected to be confirmed by the club shortly.
