O'Brien steeled for Saturday

Joey O'Brien is pleased to be back in the side and playing his part after a
lay-off with injury

Joey O'Brien is hoping Saturday's showdown with big-spending Leicester City
will see the Hammers continue their tremendous high-flying form. The npower
Championship fixture at Upton Park will once again be among the biggest in
the country and a bumper Boleyn crowd is expected for the 3pm kick-off at
the end of half-term week. Fans have flocked to get tickets starting from
just £32 on the back of a rip-roaring 4-0 home win against in-form Blackpool
in the last Upton Park fixture a fortnight ago. Leicester have splashed the
cash this season and have a host of big names to go up against Kevin Nolan
and Co. Another home win combined with a defeat for Southampton against
Middlesbrough would see Big Sam's men go top of the table for the first
time. O'Brien, for one, cannot wait, especially after Monday's spirited
success at Brighton & Hove Albion continued his comeback after a recent
hamstring lay-off. "It was vital to bounce back [against Brighton]," O'Brien
told West Ham TV. "I think we are three points behind Southampton now after
they dropped points on Saturday and I think that everybody is going to drop
points in this league.
"That is the way it is working out, so hopefully we can now go on a nice
run. After a disappointing match against Southampton we have bounced back
really well and hopefully we can beat Leicester this weekend."

James Constable praise for on-loan Robert Hall

Oxford United forward James Constable has hailed the impact of on-loan West
Ham striker Robert Hall. Hall scored two goals for the U's in the 5-1 win
over Plymouth on Tuesday, to bring his tally up to six goals in nine games
for the League Two side. The 18-year-old is on-loan at Oxford until 9
November and has been instrumental in their success so far. "He is a
tremendous player and a joy to train with and play with," Constable told BBC
Radio Oxford. Hall's goals have helped fire United up to fifth in the table
and Constable, who also scored twice against Plymouth, is predicting big
things from the West Ham trainee. "He has got a massive future ahead of him
and for the moment we are just pleased to have him playing for us," added
Constable. United put behind them their weekend defeat with victory over
bottom-placed Argyle and Constable says team spirit has a part to pay in
their success this season. "We are all together," added Constable. "The
morale is brilliant on the training pitch and in the changing room and we
all go out on Saturdays desperate for the same thing and are driving towards
that one goal."

West Ham defender Joey O'Brien is hoping the club can continue their run to
the top of the Championship table. The Hammers lost at leaders Southampton
earlier this month, but they bounced back with victory at Brighton on
Monday. West Ham could indeed go top if Southampton are beaten by
third-placed Middlesbrough on Saturday. "It was vital to bounce back
[against Brighton]," O'Brien told West Ham's official website. "I think we
are three points behind Southampton now after they dropped points on
Saturday and I think that everybody is going to drop points in this league.
"That is the way it is working out, so hopefully we can now go on a nice
run. "After a disappointing match against Southampton we have bounced back
really well and hopefully we can beat Leicester this weekend."

Exclusive - Allardyce: Diouf could fill injury gap at West Ham
By talkSPORT
Wednesday, October 26

Sam Allardyce claims West Ham are only interested in signing El-Hadji Diouf
because of the club's injury crisis. The Senegalese winger is currently
training with the Hammers ahead of a prospective move to Upton Park, after
injuries to David Bentley, Henri Lansbury and Matt Taylor in recent weeks.
And Allardyce states that should the former Liverpool man prove his fitness,
the club would be attracted in his services "He's just training with us at
the moment," Allardyce said. "It's our injury crisis that's my problem at
the moment more than anything else. We had George Moncur on the bench
[against Brighton] and he's only 17 years old. "You need to a good squad to
get to the top of this league so I'm just having a look to see what he's
looking like."
